MAC Lightness of Being Collection
In December the MAC Lightness of Being collection was launched and for a month my heart ached whilst looking at thousands of pictures. When it made its way to our shores last month, I finally got my hands on it. I will first show the entire collection and you’ll find my review at the bottom. Thanks for reading…
Mineralize Eyeshadow – R250 ($22)
Mineralize Rich Lipstick – R260 ($23)
Mineralize Skinfinish – R450 ($39)
Studio Nail Lacquer – R150 ($13)
Okay so out of the collection I only purchased two products.
Firstly the Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade. It’s my new favourite everyday highlighter and it’s easy to see why. Although this shade is from their permanent range, the new pattern is limited edition and is housed in MAC’s new packaging. I used this about 20 times before I took these pictures and the chevron knitted design is still intact. Running through the pale champagne base are veins of peach and lilac. These shades offer no additional colour to the powder but I am in love with the metallic shimmery glow it imparts.
The powder is very smooth and pigmented so I only need to swipe my brush ever so lightly to give my cheekbones a radiant silvery-peachy-pink hue. It is the perfect, cool-toned highlighter that can be worn alone or with a matte blush and it’s made its way onto my holy grail list to be repurchased over and over again.
Secondly I picked up the Mineralize Blush in Please Yourself. Also housed in the new packaging, which might I add is more sturdier than before and has a smaller window, is a berry pink blush with plum marbling.
The blush is highly pigmented so it took me a few tries to get the perfect flushed look after tapping most if it off the brush. There is loads of glitter as well so it’s easy to go overboard but once it’s buffed out it leaves behind a boost of shimmer. The finish of the Mineralize Blushes are frosty so you don’t NEED to wear a highlighter with them (even though I still do). For people that don’t like a lot of sparkle, then you need to give this one a skip.
MAC products are available at local MAC counters, online or at their standalone stores nationwide.
Have you seen the Lightness of Being collection? Which products have you picked up?

I only picked up Lightscapade MSF. I have wanted to get it for the longest time, and when I saw that it would have a limited edition design on it, I decided, now would be the time to get it. It really is a lovely everyday MSF, and works well for all skin tones I think, because I have a very deep skin tone, and it gives me a lovely ‘lit from within’ kind of glow.
