Monday Mascara Mayhem – Drugstore Picks

Mascara. Mascara. Mascara. Where do I begin? Up until about 5 months ago, I absolutely hated wearing mascara. Yes HATE is a strong word but I swear, it felt like having goggas (that’s what we call insects) latching on to my lids and blurring my vision. Yes I know I was being dramatic but that’s how I truly felt for a very long time.

That, in all honesty, was one of the reasons I’d chosen to get lash extensions in the first place. You can read more about my horrible experience here, but I loved the way my eyes looked when I had longer, thicker lashes. Since it took a while for all the extensions to fall out + me sitting and clawing them off at night, I held off on the mascara alternative for a while. It wasn’t until our summer holiday last December that I decided to try out some waterproof mascara for those every day beach days.

Wishlist Wednesday – Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Makeup Kit

Wow now that’s a long name for a product. Physician’s Formula have ‘shimmer strips’ in a lot of their product names so I guess they’ve had to explain each product in detail to differentiate. For all my South African followers 🙂 I bring to you a product on my wishlist that is actually on sale in most Dischem stores nationwide. To be honest, I was somewhat feeling a bit guilty featuring unattainable products, not only for my readers sake, but because they are not readily available, I miss out on purchasing it too.

I’d like to share the current cheek products that I’ve seen on Instagram that I didn’t even know were available in SA besides the Physicians Formula ones. These few items I fell in love with the minute I laid eyes on them. If you browse through the pictures you’ll see why.
