I placed an order for the following products online in August last year, and due to the backlog at the post office, I only received my items in December. I’ve been using a few of the products but I thought I’d do this blog post for those of you who want to see what I picked up and also the prices of items and customs for the size of the order I placed. Because this post is going to be an image overload, I will do individual posts on certain items that contain swatches as well.
I am so sorry for my Body Shop follow up post being so delayed. It has been such a hectic week with me trying to run a business and having to cope with an unfortunate death in the family but I finally got around to it. Plus it’s given me more time to test out the items I bought as we have been having strange weather lately here in Johannesburg, like 3 seasons in a day and me hoping I won’t catch a cold. So I’ll get right on to it 🙂
The Body Shop Shimmer Waves in Coral
By far my favourite item of all The Body Shop products. I use it almost every day just to brighten my complexion and give it a healthy glow. The pigmentation of the shades is very subtle and works great on my medium skin tone as an all-round highlighter. It feels light on my skin and doesn’t fade until I wipe it off at the end of the day. The shades can be used individually to accentuate certain areas or as eye shadow. The square packaging looks bulky and heavy but it’s not and is definitely a must have item for every makeup bag because of its versatility. Price R199 (8.5g)
The Body Shop Baked-to-Last Blush in Coral
This blusher almost made it onto my favourite item list. It is long lasting and also light when applied to the skin. I love the fact that it is blusher and highlighter in one compact but I find it too pink for my liking, was hoping for more of a peach undertone. Have used it a couple of times and I only had to sweep my brush across once to apply on both cheeks. It really is baked to last. Price R160 (5g)
The Body Shop Brush on Bronze
These bronzing pearls were on my lust list for quite a while and I’m so happy I finally own it. The packaging is quite bulky but there are so many beads it will last forever. When applied it has a subtle shimmer and I’ve used it quite a bit to contour the upper part of my face. You can build up the darkness of the product for a more tanned look but not recommended for paler skin as it’s quite orange. Price R199 (28g)
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Brilliance Powder in Copper
So this is my least favourite item I purchased. The concept is great because you can apply the bronzer with just one sweep and it has an assisted tube when closing so you don’t damage the bristles on the brush. The product claims to be no-mess and although that is true for the tube, it was all over my clothing once I applied it to my face. The formula is so glittery it would much rather be suited for wear on the neck and shoulders for a night out. Without the glitter the bronzer is not even noticeable so I would have to give this one a miss. Price R199 (5g)
Overall I am happy with my purchases and will definitely be buying more stuff from The Body Shop. As mentioned in my previous post all their make-up is animal cruelty free and great value for money.
What are your favourite Body Shop products?
LOTS OF LOVE
