Hiya loves. So I recently went into our local Dischem and there was a huge L.A. Girl stand at the entrance to notify customers of the current Beauty Fair where they have great promotions and specials on offer. All L.A. Girl products are 25% off and since I own a few L.A. Girl products like the gel liner, blush and lip glazes, I knew that it would be good value for money.
This weeks feature is from a brand also not available in South Africa at the moment. Tarte Cosmetics was founded by Maureen Kelly out of her New York City apartment in 1999, another brand that is striving to provide cruelty-free cosmetics. ‘Healthy, eco-chic beauty, infused with skinvigorating ingredients like superfruit and plant extracts, vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other naturally-derived ingredients free from parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances and gluten’.
In December the MAC Lightness of Being collection was launched and for a month my heart ached whilst looking at thousands of pictures. When it made its way to our shores last month, I finally got my hands on it. I will first show the entire collection and you’ll find my review at the bottom. Thanks for reading…
If you love trying out different eyeshadow colours and are confident enough to strut bold shades but have to use 10 different eyeshadow brushes to achieve your look, then be prepared to be smitten.
If you figured out what this post was about by just reading the title, then yes, I know it’s harsh but it’s the truth.
I, like many South African bloggers, jumped on the Lipidol band wagon as soon as it was launched last year in Clicks stores nationwide. The reason it has taken me months to write this blog post is because I attributed my experience to post-partum hormones when I started getting breakouts and decided to retry the products in the last month. While browsing new makeup trends last week, I came across the new limited edition eyeshadow palette from Chantecaille and instantly knew it was the item I wanted to feature on this weeks wishlist for numerous reasons.
I can sit for days on end lusting over all the products that I see on the web and social media. It excites me to find out when new products are being launched and how companies try to one up their last product to get more bestsellers.
So I have decided to add a regular feature on the blog sharing those must-have, lust-have products for you fellow makeup lovers out there.
For the last two months I have been using Argan oil based hair products. I had heard and read everyone raving about how amazing Moroccan Oil is for the hair and how luscious it makes your locks and when I enquired at the salons, the prices blew my mind. I had to scoot on over to our local drugstore Clicks and I stumbled across the HASK hair care range.
UPDATE: The below mentioned highlighter has officially been released as Bronze Goddess. It is not a dupe for the Heat Wave highlighter. It is more bronze, less gold and shimmer. Click here for swatches.
Last year I was lucky enough to pick up the Estée Lauder Limited Edition Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heat Wave. It was part of the Bronze Goddess Summer 2013 Collection and is one of the most wanted highlighters worldwide. I bought it from The Cosmetic Company/Estée Lauder Head Office for just R380 ($32), a complete steal from its original R545 ($47) price tag. (You can read about the MAC bargains I picked up as well from them here).
